SeaStar outboard steering offers three models of steering cylinders to suit most applications: Front Mount, Side Mount, and Splashwell Mount. Front Mount cylinders are balanced and the most commonly used. They are designed for single engines to 350 hp and multiple outboard engine installations with total power to 700 hp in counter rotating applications. Before ordering, determine the best application for the boat based on hull design, speed, and usage. Side mount cylinders are unbalanced and offer 4.8 or 5.7 turns lock-to-lock. It is suitable for shallow splashwells and use on engines fitted with power steering. For single engines to 300 hp and multiple outboard engine installations with total power to 600 hp in counter rotating applications. Splashwell Mount cylinders are an unbalanced, light duty alternative to front & side mount with 5.5 or 6.5 turns lock-to-lock for engines with or without support tubes.
