Cranking power for up to 18:1 compression. Machined Billet Block Adapter, Clears Most Oil Pans. Includes one shim and no spacers.

High Torque - Top Mount Starter, Counter Clockwise Rotation

Hardin Marine introduces the new High Torque, Top Mount Starter. This starter features 5 full roller bearings, and a heat dissipating solenoid designed to eliminate the “hot start” syndrome. It features a 9 tooth pinion gear. Fits applications with a 4" center to center mounting hole dimension. The sealed drive assembly prevents debris from entering the starter motor. Counter Clockwise Rotation. This reliable starter will have your boat turning over every time for years to come. Needs .040-.100 clearance between the edge of the starter gear to the edge of the flywheel when the starter is not engaged. The starter gear should use 90% of the ring gear when the starter is engaged.

• Short: For engines that have 1.75 inches from the bellhousing starter mounting surface to the starter side edge of the flywheel.

• Dual Cooler Bellhousing: For engines that use the Hardin Marine 755-8054 Dual Cooler Bellhousing Kit and that have 2.13 inches from the bellhousing starter mounting surface to the starter side edge of the flywheel.

Top Mount Replacement Prestolite 3-bolt Starter

This starter is used on many known jet engine manufacturers (Indmar, Hardin, etc). This is a reverse rotation starter so it can start your standard rotation motor. This is a high torque mini starter, good up to 18:1 compression engines. The starter weighs 8lbs. Replaces Prestolite #'s MDU 7016, 7022, 7033. Fits into a 3" bellhousing opening. Starter gear kicks out 0.500"
