(#2005) 6V-71 TBS Billet Case / Cast Rotors The TBS 6V-71 Supercharger is designed for smaller displacement Chevrolet engines (283, 350, 327, 383ci SBC), that are street driven applications using pump gas. The 6V-71 (327 CID) is similar to the GMC small diameter 6-71 (339 CID), where it does not need to be severely underdriven to maintain safe boost numbers. By eliminating the potential of any delayed throttle response with the increased rotor speed, you can achieve that “heart pounding” performance from stoplight to stoplight. The 6V-71 has 12” long cast rotors, instead of the 15” long rotors in a standard 6-71 supercharger. It utilizes race bred recessed bearing plates to accommodate the shorter rotor length while using a similar exterior case as a standard 6-71. The recessed front plate provides some of the same benefits as seen on a “Retro” front discharge race blower. This helps to not only give a cooler air charge, but it also reduces the horsepower to drive the supercharger.
