Gil Marine has since gone out of business and Hardin Marine bought all the tooling to produce the original Gil Manifolds. Hardin is now the sole producer of what they term "Gil Replacement" manifolds for Big Block Chevy applications. Hardin Marine has taken its years of exhaust tailpipe technology and designed a new tailpipe to fit most common MerCruiser big block Chevy engine applications. This new tailpipe is manufactured from all 316L stainless steel with the same high quality you've come to expect. By creating a tailpipe designed to fit most standard "Bravo" tailpipe exit locations affordability is maximized. We have coupled it to the infamous Gil Offshore performance exhaust manifold/headers found as standard equipment on carbureted Mercury HP 500's and Mercury Racing 540 Bulldog Packages. This manifold has forever been the most sought after and attempted to be duplicated manifold in the performance marine exhaust industry. At last you can own the "Original" at a cost even less than the imitations. Take note of the jumper hose that runs from the manifold up to the tailpipe. This hose transfers the cooling water from the manifold to the tailpipe for discharge and keeps the water totally isolated from your engine. Many other systems on the market use an inferior thru-flange system to pass the engine cooling water to the tailpipe with only a thin gasket to seal the passage. A simple gasket failure could be a catastrophic event allowing your engine to ingest a large volume of water costing thousands of dollars in repairs. The system also includes the patented Gil Turbulators which trap and vaporize condensation before it can be ingested through your exhaust valves. This one simple device, will significantly increase your engines life expectancy and is only available with Gil exhaust.
