This Unique 1" thick adapter plate provides an installation option for retro fitting a Oxygen sensor and or air fuel ratio gauge for tuning purposes Into the most common Log Manifold style exhaust systems. The part is manufactured from Aluminum and is not treated with any corrosion resistance. Designed to accept popular 18MM O2 Oxygen sensors.

TECH NOTE: Will O2 Sensors Work In marine exhaust systems?

YES FOR TUNING but they have limitations as water / moisture is a byproduct of combustion. Often boaters find there is moisture in their exhaust system that have collected or made their way inside of what is better known as the "DRY" exhaust stream of their exhaust system. Anything from steam like to little water droplets about 1/32" all around the inside of the exhaust. This is because water IS a by product of combustion. same thing you see on a cold morning behind cars. sometimes you see water dripping out.

This is why O2 Sensors are great for tuning but have a limited long term life span unless protected by Catalytic converters like on New Marine engine offerings. So you know gas is known as a hydrocarbon based fuel. And we all know what hydro means WATER.

You'll note that the studs have a radiused bullet nose that serves to locate the pan rails, then allow the nuts to be easily installed without the worry of cross-threading. For those who prefer bolts, ARP's got you covered, too. Both are available in black oxide finished chrome moly steel or rust-proof stainless steel. Also, take your pick from conventional hex nuts (or bolt heads) and a space-saving 12-point design. The stud kits come complete with a special locking flanged nut, while the bolt kits come with washers.

Closed Cooling System

This closed cooling Front Mount Half system kit fits Mercruiser - 4.3 L | 5.0 L | 5.7 L - engines from the years 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007. This cooling system kit cools the block only.

NOTE: Many Factory ECM (Electronic Control Modules) are programmed for a raw water system. The addition of a fresh water (closed cooling) system results in an engine running at a proper higher temperature. However there is a 50/50 chance your ECM is not programmed to accept a closed cooling system your engine and could sense a false signal and alarm to the warning system. Moving the coolant sensor to the heat exchanger may alleviate this. Otherwise the ECM will need to be replaced or reprogrammed. In this case this information is available based on your engines serial number and is ONLY available from Mercury Marine at 920-929-5040.
