FROM YOUR MERCURY 575SCI The EFI and
supercharging experts at Whipple have developed a low
profile intercooler package for the Mercury Racing
575SCI engine. The package includes a new intake
manifold, Whipple Cooler cupronickel
intercooler core, supercharger pulley and the hardware
needed for installation.
Whipple also offers a new
computer calibration with this package to compensate for
the cooler air and increased boost level. Power levels
increase almost 100HP and 125 Lbs. of torque while
maintaining superior reliability on pump gas. All of
this in one package, yet it only requires 1.625” of
additional height.
LOW PROFILE WHIPPLE
COOLER Whipple Superchargers new low profile
intercooler is the most durable and most efficient
intercooler on the market today. While others use
aluminum intercooler cores, Whipple is the only company
that utilizes the patent technology of the cupronickel
intercooler, a Whipple exclusive. Whipple’s cupronickel,
pronounced koo•pro•nik•el, is a space age technology
that utilizes a unique blend of pure copper air fins for
increased thermal efficiency over aluminum and cupronickel
water passages for maximum corrosion resistance. Some
utilize “chromacoat” or anodized cores, which will still
corrode over time, only cupronickel
will last in the brackish lake waters and ocean salt
water.
PERFORMANCE The
Whipple Coolers are by far the most efficient core
designs on the market and all the latest technology was
used during design. The cupronickel
core was designed with an offset fin design at an
incredible count of 24 fins per inch on the air side
which is like running 48fpi. What does this mean? Almost
double the surface area of some of the other cooler
designs to maximize thermal reduction like no other
cooler. The core features an integrated ¾” NPT and
3-pass design to allow the entire core to be utilized
under all water flow conditions, giving you the maximum
amount of cooling. No other cooler can match this
performance.
DURABILITY The
Whipple Coolers heavy-duty construction and robust
material make it the most durable intercooler on the
market. This unique design utilizes a rugged bar-plate
design vs. the standard extruded tube. The bar-plate
design can endure virtually all applications while the
tig-welded construction will hold under all conditions.
Aluminum cores can also melt under extreme applications
but cupronickel’s melting point is almost 800 degrees
higher than that of aluminum.
