Over the years, specific ignition needs have developed for automobile style

Marine Ignition System, which consists of an MSD 6M-2 Ignition Control, a Soft

CERTIFIED FOR MARINE USE!
All components of the MSD Marine Ignition System have been extensively tested by
Underwriter's Laboratory and have been certified to meet or exceed all safety
standards for ignition systems as set out by the U.S. Coast Guard. Underwriter's
Laboratory is famous for its thorough testing of marine electrical components.
Each MSD Ignition component had to meet or exceed these rigorous tests before
the U.L. symbol of certification was placed on the product. Here is a summary of

Each Pro-Billet marine distributor features
two flame arrestor holes with brass screens. This prevents an explosion
from gas fumes that may build up in the engine
compartment.

While these distributors do NOT require any additional box to operate they are a stand alone style ignition in one convenient package. Although they do not share the performance advantages of their sibling the 6M-2 Series Systems they do provide the ultimate in maintenance free magnetic ignition reliability. Their increased output of the internal ignition amplifier will out perform stock ignitions while smoothing out an engines idle, improve starting, and provide a higher more adjustable operating range.
