This steering system is commonly found in most V-drive applications. Its smooth reliable operation has made it a favorite among boaters.

CALGO Steering is fully enclosed, high performance, push/pull tiller cable system. The cable rotates on a gear-driven spool inside the helm. CALGO offers a "positive" feeling with no excessive play in the cables. All systems utilize stainless steel cable that has been load tested without breakage to a minimum of 1700 lbs. Helms are available in long and short versions. All helms are supplied with the cable and housing installed from the factory (when shipped, the helms are held stationary by a special "timing pin" on the back side. This keeps the cable from unraveling when not under tension. Once the system is installed and adjusted, this pin can be removed. If the pin is prematurely removed and the cable unravels, this helm will have to be returned and sent back to the factory for reassembly). The helms are non-serviceable except by the CALGO factory. We offer a price for rebuilds. We offer complete systems for Jets and V-drives which includes everything necessary to install except the steering wheel and hub. These systems come in short (supplied with a 4" billet post), long (supplied with a 6" billet post), and extra long (supplied with a 9" cast post) versions.
