On boats equipped with Mercruiser Bravo Stern Drives the rear engine mounts are incorporated into the engines flywheel housing. Therefore the option of using a flywheel housing with a built in cooler is not possible. To address this situation an external cooler is mounted on top and across the back of the engine with special brackets bolted to the flywheel housing. Hardin Marine offers a 3" diameter cooler that flows more volume than a stock cooler and attaches to the flywheel housing with 2 billet aluminum windowed brackets which have an internal O-ring that when clamped down prevents galling the cooler and helps to cushion and shock mount the cooler. Not only are these brackets functional, but they are very attractive with their black anodized finish.
